Farm Volunteer

Waimanalo, Hawaii

Volunteer days are a chance to dig, weed, plant, and harvest while learning about sustainable farming practices!

  • Some of the activities that volunteers assist with include:

    • Prepping beds for planting including weeding, adding compost and other organic soil amendments

    • Installing or repairing irrigation

    • Transplanting seedlings

    • Direct seeding salad mixes and root crops into beds

    • Harvesting and processing root crops, greens, and other vegetables

  • Volunteer days are typically Mondays through Fridays but can accommodate other schedules on a case by case basis. Please include details of your availability in your volunteer application.

  • Volunteers must be 15 years or older, and we welcome people with a range of physical abilities. Tasks vary and can be matched to your comfort level, from nursery seeding and washing vegetables to more physical work like broadforking.
